Ice makers quit for a handful of reasons, and most of them are mechanical or plumbing, not mysterious. A water inlet valve clogs with mineral scale. A fill tube freezes shut. The ejector motor stalls, the thermostat drifts, or the optic sensors that count cubes get dusty and stop the cycle. Out here on well water, hard minerals shorten the life of valves and filters faster than most manuals admit. A visit starts with the ice mold and the water line: we watch a fill cycle, check inlet pressure, read temperatures, then test the module and harness. If the part is common, we often carry it. If not, we order it and set a return. Call us and describe what you hear and see.

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
Depends on the rest of the appliance. If the compressor cools well and the cabinet is sound, replacing a module or inlet valve is reasonable. We tell you what we find and let you decide without pressure.
Odor usually rides in on the water or the air. An exhausted filter, a long-unused supply line, or strong foods stored uncovered can all flavor cubes. We check the water path and the seals around the bin.
Most run about an hour. Diagnosis takes a portion of that, and defrosting a frozen fill tube adds time. If a part must be ordered, we schedule a second short visit to install it.
Yes. Mineral scale builds inside the inlet valve screen and the fill tube, cutting flow until cubes come out small or stop. Filtration and periodic descaling help. We point out where deposits are forming.
We work on residential units, including undercounter and built-in models, along with the ice makers inside refrigerators. Commercial high-volume machines fall outside what we handle. Describe your unit and we'll say plainly.
Give it eight to twenty-four hours for the first full bin. The mold has to reach harvest temperature and cycle several times. Toss the first batch or two, since it may carry line taste.
Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell, or see. Noise, leak, error code, smell of burning. Small details help us load the right parts on the van.
A technician arrives at your home and tests the machine instead of guessing. You hear what failed, what it takes to fix, and what we'd do if it were our own kitchen.
Many parts ride with us, so common failures get handled the same visit. Harder parts we order. Then we run the appliance through a cycle and confirm the problem is actually gone.
Ask these of anyone you let into your home — us included. Call and we'll answer all five before you book anything.
Describe the symptoms and we'll book the visit — takes about a minute.
